June has seen the relaunch of a recognised ‘high street’ offer but once again, is this deal as good as it first seems?
One of Ashley’s lessons came in to see him and ask if he could get somewhere near the offer he had been given by a local well known ‘shop in driving range’ as he was thinking of changing his irons. The offer is outlined below:
He had been told his old irons were valued at £90 and this would be doubled to £180 if he were to choose a new set. His irons are actually worth £140 so if that were to be ‘doubled’ as advertised he should have been offered £280
He wouldn’t be fitted by a P.G.A. professional, trained in custom fitting at this particular store.
The fitting was indoors into a net so he couldn’t see the ball flight.
More than likely without the use of a launch monitor to show the different distances, accuracy, spin rates, efficiency ratings plus other helpful statistics that help US as well as you find the right clubs to improve and therefore increase your enjoyment of your game.
So at the moment he is only £40 better off on the high street with the prospect of not getting a professional fitting and without seeing the ball fly in ‘live’ conditions.
